LQS Employees Train Students in Waste Separation and Recycling

Courses on Waste Management

In a commitment to the community that goes beyond normal business relations, Oiltanking started hosting courses on waste recycling at Miguel Grau school in Matarani, Peru through its subsidiary Logística de Químicos del Sur S.A.C. (LQS) back in 2010. The 20-hour program was developed and implemented by LQS employees. The aim is to raise awareness among participating students for the need to separate and recycle waste. Students are urged to separate waste even at school. As part of the program, LQS set up containers in which the waste can be disposed of separately. This separated waste is then sold to specialist companies and the money earned in this way is used to improve the school’s facilities.
