Health Campaigns in the Community Nearby the Oiltanking Terminal in Matarani

Free Health Checks

In 2016, the Oiltanking terminal in Matarani (LQS) conducted three health campaigns in the community of "Villa el Pescador," whose approximately 200 inhabitants have limited economic resources. Medical care for the community is also limited, as there are no medical centers or hospitals close by. To improve this situation, the campaigns offered the inhabitants general medical, pediatric, and dental checkups, as well as instruction on oral hygiene and nutrition. About 200 locals received free medical checkups, most of them children.

This project is not completely new. The terminal has organized and sponsored health checks for the community in previous years, e.g. in 2010 when 600 people in the municipality of Matarani received free medical checkups.
