Senior Group Capex Controller (m/f/d)

Oiltanking has been active in tank storage logistics since 1972, and is one of the largest independent operators of tank terminals for oils, gases and chemicals worldwide. The company owns and operates 63 terminals in 23 countries with a total storage capacity of 20 million cbm, on five continents – in Europe, North America, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, India, and the Asia-Pacific region.

We are looking for you to join us as soon as possible as a

Senior Group Capex Controller (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Ensure proper budgeting, approval and follow up of capex during the whole investment cycle in accordance with Oiltanking guidelines
  • Regular update of Group internal rules and processes with regards to capex
  • Improve existing capex controlling process and establish effective project controlling processes
  • Monitor monthly actuals vs budgets and forecasts, challenge the project organization on overruns and provide analyses on most significant gaps (cost and time differences)
  • Alert Oiltanking management and Regional Controllers on risks and opportunities and Treasury on significant changes of cash outflows
  • Prepare and further develop capex reporting for Oiltanking Group
  • Prepare, review and analyze AfEs (Approval for Expenditure) for management approval
  • Coordinate Post Investment Reviews
  • Liaise with your key stakeholder (Regions, Regional Controllers, Portfolio & Strategy, Assets & Operations, Treasury/OT Finance and Corporate Controlling)
  • In this position you will report to the Head of Finance & Controlling of Oiltanking

Your profile:

  • Several years of proven finance and capex controlling expertise working in a multi-national corporate environment
  • Proactive behavior and hands-on mentality (acting in advance of future situations, taking control and making things happen)
  • Solid knowledge of financial standards, processes and finance systems
  • Strong conceptual understanding of Finance & Finance-IT systems (SAP, BI Tools)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a change-determined environment
  • Graduate degree in economics or similar education
  • Delivery focused with an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work in a structured way
  • An open-minded and problem-solving attitude
  • Interested in having a high degree of interaction with different group function and entities across the world
  • Naturally acting with integrity and accountability
  • Fluent English & German language skills
  • MS Office knowledge
