Oiltanking Divests Minority Shareholding in Oiltanking Terneuzen and Oiltanking Ghent

Oiltanking Terneuzen, the Netherlands Oiltanking Terneuzen, the Netherlands

Oiltanking expands its cooperation with 3i Infrastructure plc, selling a minority shareholding of 45% each in Oiltanking Terneuzen B.V. (the Netherlands) and Oiltanking Ghent N.V. (Belgium) to the company. The transaction follows 3i Infrastructure’s 2007 acquisition of a 45% stake in three Oiltanking terminals – Amsterdam, Malta and Singapore. Since then, 3i Infrastructure has proven to be a reliable and strong partner in these terminals.

As the majority shareholder, Oiltanking continues to manage and operate the two terminals, whose organizations remain unchanged by the partial sale. This minority participation capitalizes part of the increased value of the terminals created by Oiltanking over the years. The funds released are to be used to further advance the worldwide growth of Oiltanking’s independent storage terminal network.

Both terminals are located in the ARA region, one of the world’s major hubs for petroleum products and chemicals. Oiltanking Terneuzen offers storage infrastructure for petroleum products and chemicals. Oiltanking Ghent is one of the largest independent storage terminals for petroleum products, biofuels and chemicals in Belgium with a total capacity of more than 1 million cbm.
