Oiltanking Builds Storage Facility for of Nexsol’s Biodiesel Plant in Singapore

Oiltanking Singapore invested in the construction and operation of a long-term off-site storage for the biodiesel plant (100,000 t/a) owned by Nexsol Singapore Pte. Ltd. The facility was constructed adjacent to the Oiltanking Singapore terminal in Seraya (Jurong Island, Singapore). Both the biodiesel plant and the storage facility were scheduled to be ready for commissioning in September 2007. To meet Nexsol’s storage requirements, Oiltanking constructed eight new tanks with a total capacity of 29,400 cbm.

Nexsol planned to use the Singapore site to access sales regions in Asia, Europe and the U.S. The excellent infrastructure and potential for downstream integration made Singapore an ideal location for biodiesel production. Nexsol, a Malaysian-German partnership, already operated a biodiesel facility located in Tanjung Langsat, Malaysia.
