Oiltanking Amsterdam Expands its Capacity
Oiltanking signs long-term agreements with its customers, which lead to an expansion of the local terminal’s storage capacity by another 150,000 cbm. By the end of 2006, the terminal in Amsterdam has a total capacity of 1.3 million cbm. The planned 150,000 cbm, in combination with the various expansions announced earlier, would bring the total capacity of Oiltanking Amsterdam close to 1.6 million cbm by the end of 2007.
As the demand outlook for gasoline storage and related blending operations remains strong, an additional expansion of 200,000 cbm is under review, so that Oiltanking Amsterdam expects to extend its capacity to well over 1.6 million cbm in the years ahead.
In addition to the tank capacity expansion, Oiltanking Amsterdam plans to construct a new 2-berth jetty with a draft of 15.5 meters to accommodate seagoing vessels. This will speed up turnaround of the vessels and, in combination with three newly completed barge docks, will increase the total number of berths for seagoing vessels and barges at Oiltanking Amsterdam to 18.
