Oiltanking Odfjell expands its chemical terminal on Jurong Island, Singapore
23.06.2008 - Singapore:
Oiltanking Odfjell Terminal Singapore Pte Ltd has broken ground on an expansion project intended to further strengthen its function as an integral industrial terminal - and make/break bulk facility on Jurong Island.
In total 152,000 cbm will be built at the existing Seraya site with connectivity to petrochemical complexes, refineries and downstream chemical companies in and around this petrochemical hub. Aside from enhancing its role of supporting chemical plants, Oiltanking Odfjell will further improve its ability to offer a wide range of services to both 3rd party customers and stakeholder’s alike, entrenching Singapore as a major hub for bulk liquid chemicals in Asia Pacific/Middle East even more.
The expansion will include the addition of a deep sea jetty (45,000 DWT) and direct bunker fuel supply to vessels calling the terminal. The expansion is planned to be operational mid 2009 and will bring the total capacity of the terminal to 365,000 cbm.
With these latest additions, Oiltanking Odfjell aims to deliver increased efficiencies and greater value to its customer base and the industry at large.
