Honau also serves as an ideal location for distribution in the Lake Constance area, particularly since the region lacks terminal infrastructure. The terminal is located on the canalized part of the Rhine between Strasbourg and Freiburg, thus avoiding problems of low water levels.
Honau is conveniently connected to the Central European Pipeline System CEPS via terminal and/or refinery entry points in the Mediterranean sea (France) and Benelux.
