Oiltanking expands its terminal in Texas City

16.02.2006 - Texas City:
Oiltanking GmbH announces that the current expansion of tank capacity at its Texas City facility will be commissioned in the 4th quarter of 2006.

The first phase of expansion at Oiltanking Texas City caters for an additional 100,000 cbm (630,000 barrels) capacity and will serve the growing demand of an increasing number of customers at the terminal. The new tanks will be suitable for the storage of naphtha, aromatics, ethanol and gasoline.

Supported by its excellent location at the mouth of the Houston Ship Channel and in the heart of the Texas City Industrial Complex, Oiltanking’s Texas City facility has been able to quickly impress the market with its strong focus on outstanding customer service, no congestion at ship and barge jetties and superior connectivity to rail and road infrastructure. After completion of the additional tanks, the total storage capacity at Oiltanking Texas City will be 440,000 cbm (2,750,000 barrels). The terminal infrastructure is equipped to most efficiently handle speciality as well as bulk chemicals, gases and petroleum products.

Oiltanking, a division of German Marquard & Bahls AG, is the second-largest independent tank storage provider for petroleum products, chemicals and gases world-wide. Oiltanking owns and operates 71 terminals in 19 countries in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. The group has an overall capacity 11.1 million cbm.
