Oiltanking and Mediaco to develop major terminal in the port of Marseille

Oiltanking GmbH is pleased to announce that it plans the development of a new deep-water petroleum terminal in the South of France. The new facilities will strengthen Oiltanking's global position as a leading provider for independent storage services and complement Oiltanking's position in the Mediterranean Sea.

The envisaged site is located in the Cavaou sector of Fos sur Mer and has a planned capacity of minimum 800,000 cbm. It will be suitable for the storage of a wide range of petroleum products and for vessels with a draft of up to 20 metres. The facility is expected to be operational in the course of 2010.

Oiltanking will be the majority shareholder and operating partner in the joint venture with the French industrial Group Mediaco, which already has independent storage activities in the Port of Marseille and is a leading French company in many other activities as well.
