- Oiltanking forms a joint venture with Zuari Industries and Indian Oiltanking to construct and operate a terminal in Goa, India.

Brandsen terminal
- Opening of the Brandsen terminal (see photo) in Argentina, a new pipeline take-off terminal, and an Oiltanking-operated, 166-km crude-oil pipeline to Campana.
- Signing of contracts and the beginning of construction of a Terneuzen green-field terminal that will be complete in 2004.
- Oiltanking Amsterdam reaches a capacity of more than 1 million cbm.
